Why should you train with us?

Relieve Stress:

Take a mini vacation twice per week! Our classes are wonderful for working out the stress and solicitudes of the day. Our program provides a “productive distraction” from the worries and anxiety of our fast paced society. A distraction now and then can actually makes us more productive in our daily lives. The environment is year-round and cooperative not competitive. This helps build long-term group camaraderie.

Fitness:

The aerobic, and stretching aspects of TaeKwonDo & Karate are undeniable. The movements and exercise found within our various martial arts will help you tone all major muscles as well as develop greater cardio fitness balance, and endurance. Our classes are fresh and exciting and fitness tends to be a welcome side effect of learning how to defend yourself while learning martial arts.

New research published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine shows that people in their 40’s and 50’s who regularly practice martial arts demonstrate astounding levels of physical fitness in comparison to people the same age who don’t exercise at all. The study subjects who practiced martial arts had 12% less body fat, were able to do twice as many sit-ups, had enhanced flexibility and leg strength, demonstrated a stronger immune system and showed greatly improved balance.

Confidence & Self Esteem:

People who don’t exercise are more prone to depression. So it shouldn’t be surprising that developing physical confidence through a discipline such as martial arts will also produce mental confidence. When you feel good you project a higher level of confidence and that’s key to effective self-protection. Nothing can take the place of the security in knowing that you can defend yourself, if you have to.

Focused Mind:

Adult students mention they simply feel more “together”. They handle stress better than ever before and find a clearer focus on life with an improved ability for decision-making. The Japanese martial arts theory and strategy are often taught to businessmen because the principals expressed in martial arts are applicable in daily life–especially business. A deeper determination to accomplish personal and professional goals often develops with long-term training in the martial arts

Self Defense:

The skills you learn could save your life or the life of a loved one. Learning the striking arts of Karate and TaeKwonDo, the throwing and grappling techniques of Judo and Jujitsu, coupled with the joint locking and controlling techniques of Aikido can prepare you for a wide variety of self defense situations. Although the physical self defense we teach is highly effective, we also discuss ways to avoid conflicts or de-escalate them before they reach a physical altercation. We also comment on how to be aware of your surroundings and alert to danger before it strikes. Many times the best resolution to a self defense situation is simply knowing how not to get into a fight or how to get out of fighting all together.

Qualified Instructors & Facility:

Our school has been teaching children and adults in the Princeton and surrounding areas since 1990. We understand that your child deserves high quality instruction and strive to meet and exceed this expectation. Our instructors are nationally certified and renew their certification on a yearly basis. Our instructors also participate in numerous continuing education seminars throughout the year in order to bring fresh ideas and cutting edge instruction to our classroom. We understand that you have probably never taken a martial arts class, and our instructors are patient and helpful — everyone works at their own pace. As you would expect our facility is safe, clean, and uses only the most professional equipment, including Olympic quality mats and industry approved training aids. Our school is also licensed by the USA Martial Arts Federation and the United States National Karate Do Federation, the national governing body of sport karate in the United States.
