“I am very happy with Hunter’s progress in school, he is doing much better showing respect both for others and school property. I am very impressed at the care your Karate school puts into talking with the childeren about things like respect and dicipline and it really shows in your students!”

Why Trust Us To Teach Your Child?

Confidence, Attitude, Self Esteem:

Carleton University, in a study reported in Psychology Today (January 1985), found that children in martial arts have a lower level of anxiety; an increased sense of responsibility; a decrease in the willingness to take foolish risks; a higher sense of self-esteem; higher level of social intelligence; and were less likely to be radical.

The martial arts help students understand the only person they ever truly compete against is their self, and to keep an open mind. These concepts are very empowering, and help to increase students self confidence and self esteem outside the school. Our advancement system gives them a great sense of accomplishment that really improves the way they feel about themselves. Our instructors also take time out to have “mat chats” with our children to help highlight a specific concept such as responsibility, self discipline and respect (to name a few) and present them in terms the kids can both understand and relate to. Our program helps to instill a strong sense of self-worth; self-respect and self-worth are every child’s foundation for dealing with unhealthy peer pressure

Discipline:

We enforce good rules of behavior in class, and we expect the same good behavior at home and in school. We request a student’s parents and teachers sign off on their behavior before they are allowed to test. The clear hierarchy of the martial arts including the belt system and teacher-student relationship helps to provide a framework of discipline. The formal procedures of the dojo and emphasis of respect both to instructors and fellow students help to further the discipline students learn.

Self Defense:

With the various martial arts we teach, your child is prepared for a wide variety of self defense situations. Although the physical self defense we teach is highly effective we also discuss ways to avoid conflicts or de-escalate them before they reach a physical altercation.

Fitness:

The aerobic, and stretching aspects of TaeKwonDo & Karate are undeniable. The movements and exercise found within our various martial arts will help you tone all major muscles as well as develop greater cardio fitness balance, and endurance.

Kids who are physically fit sleep better and are better able to handle the physical and emotional challenges that a typical day presents – be that running to catch a bus, bending down to tie a shoe, or studying for a test. The American Council on Exercise states that by the time they reach high school, 63% of children are no longer physically active. Our program provides a worthy and productive substitute for a couple of hours of XBox or PlayStation!

Qualified Instructors & Facility:

Our school has been teaching childeren and adults in the Princeton and surrounding areas since 1990. We understand that your child deserves high quality instruction and strive to meet and exceed this expectation. Our instructors are nationally certified and renew their certification on a yearly basis. Our instructors also participate in numerous continuing education seminars throughout the year in order to bring fresh ideas and cutting edge instruction to our classroom. Our wonderful and patient instructors love interactacting with the kids and insure that our classes are a fun learning experience. As you would expect our facility is safe, clean, and uses only the most professional equipment, including Olympic quality mats and industry approved training aids. Our school is also licensed by the USA Martial Arts Federation and the United States National Karate Do Federation, the national governing body of sport karate in the United States.
